The Narrative

Asifa’s influence is pervasive, as she introduces the girls to her cousins, Rameez and Abdul, who are instrumental in the brainwashing process. A harrowing incident where the girls are molested by a group of boys, orchestrated by Asifa, serves as a catalyst for their conversion. Asifa’s twisted logic convinces them that wearing a hijab could have prevented the assault, playing into their vulnerabilities.
The Downward Spiral
The film captures the gradual descent of Shalini and Geethanjali as they alienate their families and succumb to the extremist ideologies. Nimah, however, remains skeptical, seeing through Asifa’s flawed ideologies. Despite her resistance, the narrative highlights the powerful grip of radicalization on the vulnerable minds of the young women.
